Home in Australia
Hello Everyone!
I have now been home in Australia for a couple of weeks, after returning from the LPGA Tour Championship, in Houston. My finish was disappointing, but, it was a long week, and I really did play quite solid. All of the players were so disappointed for the Tournament and their Sponsors, as, the bad weather really kept the fans away. We had great crowds on Thursday, but, the wind and rain kept them away Fri and onwards - understandably - we didn't want to be out there in bad weather either!!
So, you are probably wondering what I do to keep busy whilst I am in Australia....Well, it is the Christmas Season, so we have been busy with preparations for Christmas Day, and are having fun getting into the Christmas spirit. I flew to Christchurch, New Zealand last week, and was part of the Opening of the Pegasus Golf Resort, home of the 2010 New Zealand Womens Open. As you may be aware, there is a lot of competition between Australia and New Zealand, and we really don't like giving each other too much credit, but I must say that Christchurch is a beautiful area. The people are so nice, and it was really exciting to be part of a new golf course. Everyone was so excited to see 3 years of work finally come to fruition. Sarah Kemp and myself were the representatives from the ALPG Tour, and we played the golf course on Opening Day. The golf course is in great shape, and it will be a real test with the winds that seem to be part of the area. Sarah and I then held a golf clinic for the guests.... as you can see the weather was a little cool - photos below. The weekend was a lot of fun, and we look forward to returning for the event next year! Today I am attending the Renay Appleby Junior Day at Coolangatta Tweed Heads, and will upload the photos soon. Thanks for checking in, and keep tuned for exciting news coming! Rach
