P&G Beauty NW Arkansas Championship
Well, another consistent week for me with a tie for 28th at the Canadian Open. I played really solid all week, and putted well too. A couple of 3 putts in the last round hindered my climb up the leader board, but all in all, a very solid week.
This week we are in Rogers, Arkansas. It took all day Monday to travel from Calgary to Rogers, however, I made it, without losing my luggage, so that's always a positive! Rogers is quite a small town, but, the tournament has incredible support from the local community, so it is really fun to play. The big player in this area of the country is Walmart. Many of the companies that are based here are customers of Walmart, and they are all very involved in our tournament. P&G (Procter and Gamble) are the main sponsors, and what a great sponsor for an LPGA Tournament. They make so may products that we use everyday, and we have received lots of goodies in our lockers this week!
The last two years we have had incredible rain and thunderstorms here, and, as I look out the window of the hotel, it is raining again today!! Hopefully, it will clear out, and we will have some great weather for the tournament. It is quite an adjustment moving from the dry cool weather in Western Canada, to the hot humidity of Arkansas, so, I am thankful for the Friday start this week. It certainly takes a couple of days to acclimate!
My sponsors M&M's, have an office here in Rogers, so, it is fun to catch up with some familiar faces. They are very involved in the tournament here as well, with Pro Am Teams and a Hole Sponsorship of No. 13. Go Team M&M's!!!!!
Thanks for checking in again. The P&G NW Arkansas Championship is the third event I have played in a row, so, I would love to have a strong finish and celebrate in my week off next week!
All the best
Rachel
